It's a go!
Glimmerglass, that is. At least for me - need to call Walt and confirm with him. Weather for Monday and Tuesday (7/31 and 8/1) looks like mostly sunny or partly cloudy, with highs in the low-mid 80s. 30% chance of showers/t-storms Tuesday night and Wednesday. My leave is approved, and I'm good to go. Other things are starting to fill in the alternate dates, so barring a tornado, I'll hit the road on Monday. Thought of a few additions/subtractions to the packing list, and adjusted and packed/unpacked a few things, but feel pretty good with it at this point.
Commuted by bike on Monday, adjusting the route upward to 16.6, but it made a huge difference in the quality of the riding, volume of traffic, etc. Perfect weather day, followed by two days of HHH, with a threat of rain, so one day was it.
SWC ride tonight, in really hot/steamy conditions, was a hilly 17.4, at a 14.8 pace, on the old bike. It was still in the garage, and rain was possible, so I just used it. And still blew away the others on the uphills, with a low gear of about 34. Gotta get me a polka-dot jersey...
