Commuting...

All upgrades have now been installed, and the touring bike is ready for trying out some hills. Washout, Gower, and Rector Roads will be good tests of the new gearing. I still need to clean the chain and rear derailleur, and will either do this indoors in the next few weeks, or wait for warmer weather and the outdoor hose. Have printed out some possible packing lists for the Glimmerglass outing, but that's about as far as I've gone for now on that one.

Will attempt to start bike commuting the weeks of March 20 and March 27, and will then have to wait again until after Daylight Saving Time settles in, around early May. Have added reflective tape to the old bike, and hope to add a headlight (CatEye EL-500 seems to be a good choice) before then. Would never actually be commuting in dark conditions intentionally, but it just seems like a good idea, and will need it later for touring anyway.

Continue to ride commuter on trainer with Brooks B-17 for breakin, and can't wait to get out on the road again.
